Natural Gas
The only one storage for natural gas is located 15 km away from Vratsa  in the village of Chiren, which was constructed in 1974 based on an exhausted gas field. The scarce number of gas storages in South-eastern Europe as well as the dimensioned growing development of the gas market in Bulgaria and the neighbouring countries is the main reason for the underground storage of natural gas in Bulgaria and Natural Gas Storage (NGS) Chiren in particular to have good future. 
Vratsa is a city  with a very well developed industrial gasification /proximity of the gas ducts of the national gas transfer network to the factories within the industrial area, constructed gas distribution stations (GDS), etc. Bulgargas Plc. is the owner of the gas transfer network.  Bulgargas Plc. is the only company for transfer of natural gas in Bulgaria.
